The colours of Harderwijk’s heraldic coat of arms are green, gold and blue, and they also symbolise the town today. Green: its location in the heart of natural surroundings, with woodlands, heather moors and hillocks of windblown sand. Gold: the ancient Hanseatic cultural heritage, and today’s bustling shopping centre. Blue: a town on the lakeside. The welcoming harbour is an ideal departure point for a sailing trip. Shops have late night opening on Fridays, when you can enjoy a range of local events, and on Saturday morning there is a market in the town centre.
In short, Harderwijk is more than worth a visit!
